America’s Most Expensive Ski Home: Aspen may have started out as a small mining camp during the 1880s Colorado Silver Boom. Aspen is known as one of the best places to ski. But the fact that the most expensive ski home in the U.S. just went on the market in Aspen for a crazy $100 million just proves it.
We just had to take a tour of what is, without a doubt, one of the best homes in the world.
Aspen was already well-known in the US before it became famous as a ski resort around the world. Hunter S. Thompson spent a long time there. John Denver wrote two songs about the town. They are called “Aspenglow” and “Starwood in Aspen.” There have also been sightings of Mariah Carey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Elton John, Katy Perry, and the Kardashian/Jenner family.
Because there isn’t much land in Aspen, real estate prices there are very high.
In fact, the average home price in the town is $9.5 million, which makes it the most expensive ski resort in the world. And one of the most expensive places to buy a home anywhere in the world.
This amazing 10-bedroom estate, one of just five homes on the mountain itself, would break all prior records if it sold for the $100 million it is asking for. At the summit of the Little Nell Ski Run on Aspen Mountain, it provides a stunning view and is at a fantastic location.
The home was built in 1979 and underwent a painstaking renovation in 2015. This three-story home has an eye-catching exterior made of dark wood and stone, and the roomy outside terraces are positioned to take in the stunning views.
This 14,000 square foot house has a large 1.4 acre property with aspen trees and is perfect for family gatherings. In the winter and summer, it is heavenly.
We sincerely hope that skiers who will truly value the ski-in/ski-out access. The ski room with lockers for everyone’s equipment. And the close proximity to the Aspen Mountain Gondola purchase it.
The ski resort mixes in perfectly with the mountainside. The two-story lobby of the house, which is rather regal with gold accents. And a magnificent, enormous chandelier, is accessible through a high bridge.
The home was built with a floor plan that makes it easy for people to talk to each other.
To take advantage of the views and the brilliant. Clear light that Aspen has to offer, it has numerous skylights and wide windows. Even the ceiling of the big room is decorated with striking stained glass. Simple furnishings and dark wood floors give the room a sleek, contemporary appearance that lets the views do the talking.
But “simple” doesn’t mean “cold.” The real wood-burning fireplace in the living room makes it a cosy place to hang out with friends. And the game room gives the residents a lot of ways to have fun in the evening.
There are two kitchens in the home, one of which is open. A nd features a peninsula that might serve as a house bar. Additionally, it features a home gym, a home office (seen below). A formal dining room, and is outfitted with contemporary art.
